Mary

Mary Conley is a single mother with a son in college and a desire to get on a path to save. She wants to get her finances in order to buy and pay for a home and retire comfortably in about 10 years. Though Mary was taught to pay bills, she was never shown how to save. When a crisis would arise she would have nothing to fall back on, so Mary desperately desires to save. Mary works at Chrysler, and has raised 2 daughters that live out of state and a son still at home, but going to college. Mary had to take about a 2 year leave from work to take care of her mother until she passed away.

Since her mother lived in another state but Mary still had a home here, raising children and going back and forth is what started to deteriorate her financial world until she lost her home. She wants to retire, enjoy her grandchildren, and share with her family all she will be learning so they might also be financially secure. Mary is very excited to be taking the Dave Ramsey Course: Financial Peace University that Financial Builders FCU will be teaching in a 12 week course. Her boss told her of his success in using Dave Ramsey's program which has made her feel she has someone else to turn to for advice. Mary stated signing up for the challenge is not about the money it is about "me". "I win whether I get money or not. I have already started to tell all my friends stop struggling go to the credit union see what they can do for you. I am so excited, happy and ready for this challenge. I haven't felt good for a long time and today I feel good."
